Chromebook Trouble Shooting

If a user is having issues with a Chromebook.

 The following are the most common issues to check 
  

  • First, is to logout & shutdown.

  • Logout, then choose shutdown. Wait 30+ seconds, then turn-on and re-login.

    • Re-test, to see if the problem has been fixed.

  •  â€‹If the problem still exists, try:
    “Clearing” Google Chrome History Files …

    • Press the Ctrl, Shift & Backspace - together at the same time.

    • In the first new window, in the Time Range Drop-down Selection, select:  All Time.

    • Make sure the option - ALL - is checked in the Time Range field.

    • Select the Clear Data button "located on the bottom right."

      • Once the cleared, close the window.

  • Also try, removing your Local-Google-User-Profile …

  • Sometimes a user account profile can become corrupt, so one of the easiest ways to fix this issue is to remove the users-profile, form the Chromebook, then re-Login.

    • Instructions: to remove users Google user Profile.

    • Close the Chrome Browser & logout of the Chromebook.

    • Once you are logged out. In the upper right of your own Login Profile, choose the marker that allows you to remove this person.  The choose remove/delete, then you must … re-Login to re-create your profile.

  • Last, try to update your Chromebook OS.

    • Sometimes an older Chromebook OS, “Operating System” build can cause issues.

    • Instructions: to Check the Chromebook OS-Build to update.

    • In the browser address bar, type the following below:

      • chrome://settings/help   “Then press the Enter key”

      • Then find the Chrome OS Settings, and …

      • Check for updates, if needed… run updates otherwise close the window browser settings.

  • If your issue’s are Unresolved:
